Mushroom stir fry is a magical vegetarian dish that goes well with rice or chapatti.
Ingredients
Mushroom | 1 lb |
Red onion | 1 (medium size) |
Green chillies | 2 |
Garam masala powder | 1 table spoon |
Garlic | 1-2 pieces |
Turmeric powder | ¼ teaspoon |
Chilly powder | 1 teaspoon |
Grated coconut | ¼ cup |
Salt | as required |
Mustard | ½ tablespoon |
Red chilly | 1-2 |
Oil | 3 tablespoon |
Curry leaves | as required |
Preparation
Clean mushroom and cut into small pieces - one mushroom may be cut to 3-4 pieces. Cut onion in to small pieces and crush it with garam masala and garlic.Heat oil in a non stick pan and add mustard seeds. After it crackles, add curry leaves and cut dried red chilles. Then add crushed onion, garlic and garam masala powder. Saute till it turns to a golden color.
Now add mushroom pieces and green chillies. Close the pan with a lid and let it cook for five minutes.
Once cooked, add half grinded coconut with turmeric powder and chilly powder. Add enough salt and cook for 3-4 minutes.
